Greenhouse Group is investing $500 million in Ghana to build the Bright International Amusement Park in Afienya, a project that promises a major boost for the country’s economy and tourism. At the groundbreaking, President John Dramani Mahama called the mega-project a bold step towards a vibrant, 24-hour economy.
The complex will feature a luxury five-star hotel with villas, an 18-hole golf course and polo club, and a large conference center that can hold 5,000 people.It will also include a water park, an artificial beach, high-end golf villas, and sightseeing yachts. The three-year construction will create local jobs, and Greenhouse Group says its mission is to work with Ghanaians to better their lives and grow the nation.
The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including the Honorable Minister of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare; the Honorable Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie; CEO of GIPC Simon Madjie; and the CEO of the Ghana Free Zones Authority, Dr. Mary Awusi. Other notable attendees were CEO of Bui Power Authority, Ing Kow Eduakwa Sam; CEO of the Environmental Protection Authority, Professor Nana Ama Browne Klutse; Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) Board Chairman, Ing William Mbora Amuna; Executive Secretary of the Lands Commission Ghana, Professor Anthony Owusu-Ansah; and General Consultant to the Greenhouse Group, Ing Kwaku Frimpong. Representatives from the Chinese community also participated, including Mr Tang Hong, President of the Ghana Association of Chinese Societies, and Mr. Xu Ningquan, Founding President of the Fujian Chamber of Commerce, along with traditional leaders.
