Ghana’s Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, led a high-level delegation to the 2025 Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC) in Indianapolis, highlighting Ghana’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and economic transformation. Speaking at the ministerial gathering, Hon. Ofosu-Adjare emphasized Ghana’s transition from a necessity-driven entrepreneurial sector to a thriving innovation-based ecosystem. She outlined key initiatives, including the newly launched Adwumawura Programme, which aims to create 40,000 youth-led businesses over four years, along with other government-backed programs that provide funding, training, and mentorship for entrepreneurs.
The Congress, themed “The Bold Transforms the World,” brought together ministers from several nations and development partners to discuss strategies for inclusive economic growth. Ghana also showcased its expanding agribusiness sector, highlighting investments in agro-processing and land banks to spur industrial development. On the sidelines, Hon. Ofosu-Adjare is expected to engage in bilateral meetings to strengthen trade and investment partnerships. She urged global leaders to be bold in promoting innovation and youth empowerment through entrepreneurship. The GEC continues with discussions and workshops aimed at building entrepreneurial capacity worldwide.
